Hi, I'm creating a cover for a book I've written ([link]), and was looking around for some inspiration. I'm not sure if I'll ever publish my book (I might try, but first I would have to go through my book and really edit it), but just in case I'd like to check if you would be okay with me using this photograph on the cover? I may not use it in the final, but I'm trying to come up with a few different ideas before I decide. Of course, I'll send you a link to the cover when I finish it.

what's the story synopsis? I'm sorry I haven't got time to read all the chapters. And how sexual is it and is there anything sexually deviant? I'm sure you understand I can't let my image be used on something which I don't agree with

Oh, well the story synopsis? It's a bit rough. If you've ever read Ellen Hopkins (Crank, Impulse, Glass, etc.), then it's like her books. Basically, a girl meets a guy and he's a drugie, so she ends up taking drugs with him. There are some twists and yes, there is one particularly intimate scene that I may end up deleting (but by sexually deviant, what would you consider?). It is a story of suicide, which kind of ruins the end, but I thought you should know that just in case. I guess it is a rather iffy book when it comes to morality, but it's meant to be that why. Hence why I asked your permission in using this picture. In the end, my book is called The Brutal Truth because that's exactly what it shows, and it tends to vary in detail depending on my mood.

can I decide once I see exactly what you intend to use for the cover - i.e with any manipulation, text, etc in place? Sorry to be difficult, it's just that if it ever does get into public circulation I don't want to be associated with anything which may cause difficulties for me - especially as I work with children! I'm sure you can understand.

Oh, of course. Well, the drug use and the suicide are still in the book, but I've been editing and decided to remove the rather explicit sexual scene to be replaced with something a little less, well, explicit. I actually already have something done for the cover, I just haven't decided if I would use the one with your image or not (partly because I didn't know if I could). How would you like me to show it to you?
